HOT THYROIDOLOGY publishes editorials both on clinical and fundamental aspects related to the thyroid in its broadest sense.
Publication is only on the internet on website www.hotthyroidology.com and freely accessible.
The editorials are specifically meant for scientists interested in thyroidology. Editorials should cover new (hot!) developments but also controversial issues in thyroidology in its broadest sense. The articles should not be exhaustive reviews, but concise, educational and understandable not only to scientists working in that particular field. Manuscripts are upon invitation but may be submitted. The manuscripts are reviewed by the editors and specialists in the field.

Preparation of manuscripts

Title: this should cover the main message and be as short as possible.

Authors: Names - Initials - Institutions (building) - Street - City (State) - Country. E-mail address of corresponding author.

Text: this should preferably not extend the space covered by 2000 words, preferentially in Word format, Arial 10 and inclusive table/figure and references.

Figures: Illustrations, black and white or colored drawings, should be submitted as TIFF (tagged image file format, extension TIF) or GIF (CompuServeR graphic interchange format, extension GIF) files. Scanned photographs, both grayscale and true color, should be submitted as JPEG (joined photograph expert group, extension JPG) files. Size of the figures should not exceed 640 x 480 pixels, larger figures will be rescaled to this size, due the limitations of currently used web-browsers. If readability allows it, the use of figures with smaller size is encouraged, because speed of transfer over the internet is largely dependent on the size of the files.

SUGGESTION: IT IS RECOMMENDED TO ADD ONE FIG. OR TABLE THAT SUMMARIZES THE MAIN MESSAGE OF THE EDITORIAL.

Key words: send any number of key words

References:
1. References in the text consecutively numbered between brackets.
2. Reference list in numerical order.
3. Mention all authors to a maximum of 3. If there are more, add "et al" .
4. Order of journal citation: Authors - Title article - Journal (if book, continue with: Title book - Editors - Publisher) - volume (book if applicable) - first and last page - year.

Example:
1. Scientist FG, Patient D A, Doctor JK et al. The joy of writing an editorial about the thyroid. Hot Thyroidology, month, year.
2. Smith J.A., Johnson T. I love my thyroid. Hot Thyroidology, month, year

Submission:
Manuscripts including references, tables, figures and key words can only be submitted electronically via e-mail with attachments to the editorial office hot-thy-editor@live.it (Luca Persani, Chief Editor of Hot Thyroidology), preferentially in MS-word format. The file should contain the manuscript including the references, the table(s) and legends to the figures embedded in the text at the location(s) where they should appear. Figures should be submitted separately, but together with the manuscript. The files may be compressed with PKZIP or WINZIP before transfer by e-mail.
