""Hot Thyroidology" is an electronic journal owned by the ETA and linked to its web site. The ETA is not responsible for its content. Hot Thyroidology is freely accessible.

1. Hot Thyroidology is concerned with editorials, commentaries or opinions that discuss important developments in experimental and clinical thyroidology. In these times of "on edge" scientific information, also in thyroidology, it is difficult to keep track of important developments within the broad area of one's interest. Not only is the gap between workers in experimental and clinical thyroidology growing, but there is even increasing fragmentation going on within these sub-areas. Scientists are "not sitting anymore in one room listening to each others research". This development is probably unavoidable and even sometimes a necessity, but is for obvious reasons disadvantageous at the same time.
A way to compensate for this fragmentation is to create a Journal that provides a means to relatively easy orient oneself about important new ("HOT") findings and developments in thyroidology that are not in ones own area of active research but nevertheless important to be aware of.

Editorials/commentaries/opinions are by invitation or may be submitted.

2. Furthermore HOT controversial issues may be the subject of a concise review as well. The review should definitively not be of an extensive type. They should be concise and highly educational and of limited length. Concise reviews are by invitation or may be submitted.

3. Reports of clinical cases or gene variants giving insights on thyroid diseases may be submitted. Case reports should be concise and educational.
